BYU Women's Conference is a two day conference held each year in the spring at Brigham Young University. The conference is designed for women and men 16 and older who attend general sessions in the Marriott Center at the beginning and close of each day. During the day there are also over seventy concurrent sessions to choose from held in different venues across campus. Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program. Plans were officially announced in February of 1954 with the completion deadline being set for December of the same year.
